In June of this year, an updated top of the most reliable SUVs was released. Experts conducted a survey among owners of Toyota, Hyundai, Chevrolet, Kia cars. They were asked to answer how often they had to repair, and to rate on a scale from 0 to 100 points. The rating was compiled on the basis of the information received.

Lexus RX
Reliability: 82
The premium crossover is recognized as the most reliable and high-quality. According to the owners, the car practically does not cause any complaints in operation and maintenance. Some questions arise about the design of the rear – drivers believe that it impairs visibility. However, this can hardly be considered a serious drawback, since the car has a rear-view camera and an effective security system.
Toyota 4Runner
Reliability: 87
From its inception in 2009 to the present day, the SUV has consistently ranked among the top most reliable cars. The reason for the success is the relatively simple design of the power plant and other systems, so there are almost no problems with them. True, the engine is not very powerful, but it almost never fails. It behaves predictably even in difficult off-road conditions.
However, the owners noted the lack of transmission power. Well, traditionally complained about the high cost of fuel.
Ford Expedition

This car was the first SUV with a 4-door body produced by the company. It quickly became popular among drivers who value reliability and high cross-country ability. According to experts, cars practically do not bring problems to their owners. The only thing that drivers complain about is the size of the trunk. In their opinion, it could be more. And the interior trim does not reach the level of the declared class.
Mazda CX-5

The car is considered one of the best produced by the company. The owners confirmed the correctness of the words of the manufacturer, who previously stated that the engine and transmission, with proper care, will work without repair for about 322 thousand km.
Among the shortcomings, the respondents attributed poor visibility due to the large thickness of the rear pillars and the insufficient size of the rear window. We also noted occasional problems with the air conditioner and the not always correct operation of the voice command recognition system.
Lexus GX

The manufacturer takes safety and reliability seriously, which this SUV has proven. GX is considered one of the most successful models in the premium segment. Car owners highly appreciated the endurance of the car and the fact that, unlike competitors, it requires much less repair. Among the shortcomings was attributed to increased fuel consumption compared to other cars in this class.
Honda CR-V
Reliability: 80
CR-V is one of the best crossovers in terms of equipment and reliability. The advantage is that the manufacturer gives a 3-year warranty on the quality of interior materials and structures. As for the shortcomings, the respondents noted the increased noise of the running engine in comparison with other competing models.
Kia Sportage
Reliability: 83
The components of the car’s success are sporty design, power and affordable price. But most importantly, high reliability. According to the survey results, the crossover is considered one of the best in the “first year of ownership” category.
In terms of downsides, survey participants cited slight problems with forward visibility, which is associated with the high level of the hood. And also noted the sometimes occurring decrease in controllability when entering turns at high speed.
Buick Encore
Reliability: 86
The subcompact car was created on the basis of GM Gamma II. Users noted the successful suspension design, as well as a powerful power plant and comfortable steering. Respondents did not report any major operational problems, but noted that the trunk could be made more spacious and the rear window larger to improve visibility.
Toyota Highlander

According to the manufacturer, the crossover is able to overcome more than 320 thousand km without any major repairs. Several survey participants reported that they encountered only minor problems, which were quickly and without problems fixed.
As for the shortcomings, the respondents noted some inconvenience of the third row seats, an insufficiently roomy trunk and the navigation system that does not always work correctly.

This is one of the most popular full-size SUVs. Its advantages are a spacious interior, a reliable engine and comfort. With proper operation and care, the car can last about 13 years without major repairs.
Respondents noted that the car has some problems with the smoothness of gear changes.
Chevrolet Tahoe
Reliability: 83
The car has proven itself well due to the stability during high-speed driving. The model ranks first in reliability among large SUVs. But survey participants noted that the engine sometimes lacks power when getting out of difficult situations at high speed.
Hyundai Tucson
Reliability: 83
The car is famous for its reliability and ease of maintenance. Respondents noted that there were no serious problems with him. Only in some cases, there was a decrease in handling during high-speed cornering.
Toyota RAV4
Reliability: 83
The car is considered one of the most durable and reliable. Particularly well performed in difficult weather conditions. The mileage declared by the manufacturer without repair is more than 400 thousand km. The interviewed owners did not name any serious damage. Only noted the strange design of the dashboard. However, this has nothing to do with reliability.
Toyota Land Cruiser

The car is considered the standard of quality and reliability. With the proper level of maintenance, it can do without repairs for at least 25 years. Naturally, a model with such outstanding characteristics cannot be cheap. However, this does not affect the love of brand fans. As for the shortcomings, the respondents noted a rather high fuel consumption.
