Techart tuning program for the Porsche Taycan

The tradition-steeped Porsche tuner has little to no experience with electric cars. So Techart is taking things rather slowly with the Taycan and concentrating on two areas for the time being – the wheels and the interior.

Whether it’s a body kit, performance enhancement, optimized suspension or improved brakes: what Techart has up its sleeve for all Porsche models is NOT yet available for the Taycan. But that’s yet to come, promises the tradition-rich tuner from Leonberg, and is making a leisurely start at the potent electrician from Zuffenhausen.

Big wheels for the Taycan

And that’s with a new set of wheels. The Formula VI forged wheel is available for the Taycan 4S, Turbo and Turbo S model variants. Techart has the rim ready for the electric sports car in dimensions of 10.0 x 22 inches (front) and 11.5 x 22 inches (rear). Single- or multi-colored paint finishes are possible, as is a gloss-turned front face. Techart provides 285/30 ZR22 tires at the front and 315/30 ZR 22 tires at the rear as matching tire sizes. The car shown here is fitted with Continental SportContact tires.

The 22-inch tires from Techart look pretty good on the Porsche Taycan.

Moving on to the interior. The photo vehicle shows extensively finished leather, into which a perforation in the shape of a honeycomb has been punched. This is complemented by deep black Alcantara and piping that picks up the color of the perforation. The eye-catching edge reinforcements can be found on the seat system, the chest rails, the dashboard, and the foot and trunk mats. Techart lettering can be seen on the seats as well as on the chest moldings, the backs of the headrests and the floor mats.

The steering wheel picks up the design

The sports steering wheel also wears a leather and Alcantara sheath that picks up the perforation design. Here, moreover, the twelve o’clock marking and decorative screws as well as the rotary knob for the driving modes are in contrasting color. The standard features of the valance, such as multifunction switch, shift paddles or steering wheel heating, are of course retained. Incidentally, carbon accents are to be added later.

03/2021, Techart Porsche Taycan Interieur Innenraum

The interior of the Porsche Taycan can be customized in a variety of ways by Techart.

What else? Techart has so far left it at announcements. The forged wheel and the refined interior are only “the starting point of the individualization program for the Porsche Taycan,” according to a statement from Leonberg. According to the statement, aerodynamics development, body design – where Techart is apparently planning a program consisting largely of carbon – and driver testing and homologation are progressing in parallel.

This means that all of the above should also be available for the Taycan at some point. The tuner is currently exploring “which optimization options are available in the drive technology areas of the Taycan models, such as driving dynamics, range or charging time. There is no mention of more power. But maybe that’s not what’s needed, because the Taycan has more than enough of it ex works.

Survey

Yes, Techart owes that to its customers.

No. The Taycan has enough of it ex works.

Conclusion

You have to start with something, says Techart, and gives the Porsche Taycan new wheels and some interior modifications – and nothing else for the time being. But the pipeline seems to be full, so we can’t wait to see what else is in store. And whether there will also be more power.
